An opportunity exists for a full-time Licensed Funeral Director at Henderson’s Funeral Homes & Crematorium in Chilliwack, BC. Chilliwack is a predominantly agricultural community with an estimated population of 80,000 people. It is the second largest city in the Fraser Valley Regional District after Abbotsford. The city is surrounded by mountains and recreational areas such as Cultus Lake and Chilliwack Lake Provincial Parks. There are many outdoor opportunities in the area, including hiking, horseback riding, biking, camping, fishing, and golf. It offers an excellent quality of life with a nice balance of small town lifestyle and larger city conveniences. It is only an hour away from Vancouver for those who like to experience the metropolitan areas as well as a short drive from the country.
This position shall report to the Location Manager, Shawn Molner.
The successful candidate shall have the following qualifications:
- Valid BC Funeral Director & Embalmer’s License, or equivalent;
- At least 2 to 5 years experience as a licensed funeral director.
- Valid BC Driver’s License, or equivalent;
- Strong communication and organizational skills;
- Strong computer skills would be a definite asset;
- Commitment to community involvement;
- Excellent customer service and commitment to professionalism;
- Candidate must be a proven team player and contribute positively to the work environment;
- Must be detail oriented and able to meet all deadlines efficiently;
- Be able to successfully manage large case loads and delegate effectively with minimal supervision;
- Available to work weekend rotation and “on call” duties according to posted schedule;
- Full commitment to company objectives and policies; and
- Be competent in all aspects of funeral arranging, i.e.: cultural, ethnic and religious.
