FSAC Scholarships for the 2021 Professional Women's Conference

The Funeral Service Association of Canada is offering five scholarships to the Professional Women’s Conference - Canada.


FSAC is happy to offer the following scholarship opportunities:

  • Two (2) in-person conference registrations valued at (member) $625 or (non-member) $749
  • Three (3) virtual conference registrations valued at (member) $325 or (non-member) $375.


The application deadline is October 30, 2021.

  • Eligibility

    Open to funeral service professionals licensed within the last five years and students who identify as female or non-binary.


    • Professionals must be verifiably employed in funeral service or related occupations.
    • Students must be in good standing and currently attending classes at an ABSFE- or Canadian-accredited institution or program.

    Please Note: Students who are enrolled, but have not yet begun coursework at the time of application, are not eligible to apply.

  • Submission Requirements

    Each candidate is required to answer four essay questions in no more than 250 words per question.


    Essay Questions:

    Describe how attending the Professional Women’s Conference will fuel your career.


    1. Discuss a time when your leadership skills positively influenced those around you.
    2. The pandemic has changed the professional landscape. Discuss how you’ve become a stronger funeral service professional, and what you’ve learned about yourself in the last two years.
    3. It is important for funeral service professionals to find work/life balance.  Discuss what you do to practice self-care.

  • Application Deadline

    We will accept scholarship applications through October 30.

  • Terms and Guidelines

    • Scholarships are available to NFDA and FSAC/AFSC members and non-members.
    • Scholarships are not renewable and a candidate may only receive this scholarship once.
    • Those who have already registered for the Conference may apply.
    • Scholarships will be awarded without regard to race, religious beliefs, age, national origin, or disability.
    • If unable to attend designated scholarship events, the scholarship recipient will forfeit their scholarship for that year, but may apply in subsequent years.
    • All scholarships are subject to available funds.
    • All award decisions of the Funeral Service Association of Canada are final.
    • Alternates may be selected in the event that a scholarship recipient decides not to accept the award.
    • Only completed applications will be considered. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
    • The Funeral Service Foundation reserves the right to eliminate from consideration incomplete applications without further notice to the applicant.
    • Recipients will be notified via email.

COVID-19 VACCINATION ADVISORY:


As required by the Government of Ontario, all attendees must be fully vaccinated (two doses plus 14 days) and provide their proof of vaccination along with photo ID to access certain public settings and facilities, including meeting and event spaces such as conference / convention centres. This includes attendees visiting from outside the province or the country will be required to show their full vaccination status and identification to enter these prescribed settings. It is the discretion of the individual to determine whether they would like to disclose their vaccination status. Should you make the decision not to divulge this information, you will not be permitted to access settings that require proof of vaccination. Further details on what you will be required to provide to the hotel / venue, and other settings requiring proof of vaccine before entry will follow as required by the Government of Ontario.

 

By registering for the Conference, each attendee acknowledges the requirements of the Government of Ontario and requirement of vaccination status.
