2024 Lorne Palmer Educational Bursary

FSAC's Next Generation of Deathcare Professionals Committee is awarding five (5) bursary opportunities to attend the 2024 FSAC Summit & Exhibitor Showcase, June 11-12, 2024 in Winnipeg, MB.


The summit offers an opportunity to learn, a chance to collaborate, and a structure for networking that elevates the profession and enriches careers.

 

Deadline for Bursary Applications is January 31, 2024.


ABOUT THE LORNE PALMER EDUCATIONAL BURSARY

 

These bursaries are available to individuals new to the profession (licensed less than 5 years and or under 40 years of age) or funeral service students who have not attended the conference before. Each bursary recipient will be paired with a coach, for the duration of the summit.

 

Each bursary awarded includes flights and accommodations as required as well as conference registration. Note: bursary winners from Winnipeg will only receive conference registration.

  • Eligibility

    Applicants must:

    • Be new to the profession (licensed less than 5 years and or under 40 years of age) or an embalmer and/or funeral director student registered in an accredited program.
    • Have not attended the FSAC conference before.
  • Submission Requirements

    Each candidate is required to submit the following information:

    • Name
    • Location
    • Funeral Home
    • Number of Years Licensed OR which school you are currently attending.
    • Status of FSAC Membership
    • 250 word essay on why you wish to attend the Summit & Exhibitor Showcase

    Please submit your information and 250-word essay to pam@fsac.ca by no later than January 31, 2024.  Successful candidates will be notified by February 29, 2024.

  • Terms and Guidelines

    • There are a total of five (5) bursaries available. Three will be awarded to applicants from Winnipeg. Two will be awarded nationally.
    • Winners from Winnipeg will receive complimentary conference registration.
    • Winners from other locations will receive flights and accomodations as required as well as complimentary conference registration.
    • Bursaries will be awarded without regard to race, religious beliefs, age, national origin, or disability.
    • Only completed applications will be considered. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
    • Recipients will be notified via email.
